Voilà , un album certes à  part dans la disco du groupe que je trouve toujours aussi mauvais (surtout la première face, je parle d'un vinyl) après toutes ces années.

Je partage ton analyse completement, Queen a voulu, avec cet album, surfer sur la vague disco.. Ce qui fut trés préjudiciable auprés des fans de rock que nous sommes.. Ce virage Disco avait déjà  été entamé sur The Game mais de manières plus "subtile"..

Heureusement dés The Works, les gros riffs seront de nouveau de sortie (Hammer to Fall entres autres..)

C'est un des gros reproches qui été fait à  Queen à  l'époque, cette capacité à  coller aux "modes".

Pour les plus jeune, Queen était, jusqu'à  la mort de Freddie Mercury, un groupe détruit par la "critique" rock. Le groupe qu'on devait détester ! et qu'on avait presque honte d'aimer

Le plus grand délire "journalistique" à  propos de Queen, a été chronique de Hard-Rock Mag, à  la sortie d'Innuendo, qui était, comme toujours pour un album de Queen, carrement assassine.. A la mort de Mercury, ils se sont senti obligé de dire qu'ils s'etaient trompé et que l'album était génial... Pitoyable la presse Rock de l'époque...

J'ai donc regardé ce fameux documentaire bien fait, nous en conviendrons, mais qui, toutefois, ne s'attarde pas assez sur les grands albums des 70's. Ce qui est tout de même préjudiciable. Par ailleurs, nous avons eu droit à  un long commentaire sur Barcelona, qualifié de "meilleur album" dans toute la carrière de Mercury par un intervenant. Il avait sans doute fumé quelque chose de fort juste avant ou quoi ? Intéressant mais pas indispensable.

Je l'ai regardé aussi et moi c'est plus made in heaven considéré par Brian May comme un de leurs meilleurs albums qui m'a interpelé.
Pour moi le chef d'oeuvre de Queen est et restera Bohemian Rhapsody.

Il est vrai que vu l'intitulé "Freddie Mercury", il fallait sans doute nous attendre à  ce que la carrière de Queen soit survolée.;););)

On 2 September 2013, Eagle Rock Entertainment release “The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert” on a triple DVD set, as an SD Blu-ray – with upscaled standard definition original material with uncompressed stereo and DTS-HD surround sound for the best possible quality - and digital formats [Cat Nos: EREDV988, ERSBD3007 and EVD1060 respectively].  This release boasts newly remastered sound across both sections of the concert and represents the first time the opening acts' performances have been made available on DVD or Blu-Ray.  See below for full track listing.

On April 20th 1992, Roger Taylor, Brian May and John Deacon, the surviving members of Queen, took to the stage at Wembley Stadium for the start of one of the biggest events in rock history, which the band had organised to pay tribute to their former colleague – the incomparable Freddie Mercury. Queen were joined by some of the greatest musical talent in the world to celebrate Freddie’s life and work and to increase public awareness of AIDS, the disease that had prematurely ended his life the previous year.

“The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert”  features many Queen classics in unique performances including: “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Hammer To Fall”, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “I Want To Break Free”, “Under Pressure”, “Somebody To Love”, “We Will Rock You”, “We Are The Champions” and many more.  Special guests include David Bowie, Gary Cherone, Roger Daltrey, Def Leppard, Joe Elliott, Extreme, Bob Geldof, Guns ‘n’ Roses, James Hetfield, Ian Hunter, Tony Iommi, Elton John, Annie Lennox, Metallica, George Michael, Liza Minnelli, Robert Plant, Mick Ronson, Axl Rose, Seal, Slash, Lisa Stansfield, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Young & Zucchero.

Brian May gravement malade.
Brian May passe des examens suite à  des douleurs insoutenables l'empêchant même de se lever.
L'IRM a montré des anormalités sur les os, le guitariste de Queen explique : "Au moment de Noël, j'ai fait des prises de sang, des ultrasons, des scans, pour écarter l'éventualité d'un cancer. Ce mot fait peur, j'ai vu beaucoup de mes amis combattre cette maladie, et mon père a perdu cette bataille à  66 ans, mon âge aujourd’hui."
"Depuis quelques jours, je me pose beaucoup de questions. L'équipe médicale, qui me suit, vérifie toutes les possibilités et remue ciel et terre pour obtenir les informations le plus rapidement possible, surtout en période de fêtes. Pas évident."
May remercie ses fans pour leur soutien "Je suis bouleversé par vos messages incroyables. J'ai été surpris, je ne pensais pas que je comptais autant pour vous, je ne vous remercierais jamais assez. à‡a me redonne le sourire, je ne pensais pas que ce mot 'C' entrainerait une telle avalanche de réactions, vous êtes si nombreux à  l'avoir combattu personnellement ou à  travers un proche, c'est si difficile à  partager. Brian May vient d'annoncer qu'un nouvel album de ... QUEEN allait sortir d'ici la fin de l'année !!!!

"Nous avons récemment retrouvé des chansons avec Freddie au micro et nous qui jouons derrière, et elles sont vraiment belles. Les gens pourront entendre ça d'ici la fin de l'année. Nous allons sortir un album qui devrait s'appeler "Queen Forever". Ce sera une compilation mais il y aura des chansons que personne n'aura jamais entendu avant. Je pense que ça va plaire aux gens."
