tient je savais pas que sebastian bach était toujours là .......il a toujours une belle voix mais le titre kicking and screaming est pas vraiment terrible . Faudrait que j'écoute le reste pour voir si ça vaut le coup .

L'album est dans la lignée de ce titre, il y a de très bons titres My Own Worst Enemy en particulier. Son seul véritable défaut reste les chansons : il y en a bien trop !

Mon Dieu c'est pathétique tous ces overdubs !
J'y étais à ce concert, et j'peux assurer que le public criait pas aussi fort, d'ailleurs ça fait vraiment genre "bruit de public" super plastique, qui crient sans s'arrêter, avec les mecs qui sifflent tout le temps et tout xD

Le mec a fait la comparaison entre le live officiel qui sort à gauche des enceintes, et le live en streaming du Hellfest (donc non retouché), qui sort à droite des enceintes, j'avais raison pour le public icon_lol
Pis les retouches sur la voix, c'était pas obligé, je trouve qu'il en a même pas besoin, il a toujours une superbe voix même si y'a deux trois fausses notes par ci par là , je préfère de loin une version authentique !

c'est pas tant le public qui me choque mais le fait qu'il a carrément réenregistré le chant en studio (avec en plus un max d'autotune)! Il n'y a qu'à écouter le 1er couplet c'est flagrant! Sur la partie non retouchée il est quand même assez en difficulté

Okay, la grande majorité des groupes font ça maintenant et c'est dommage, mais au moins ils font ça proprement !^^

c'est justement ca qui m'a choqué c'est trop propre!
J'ai regardé la vidéo "officielle" avant que tu ne postes ta comparaison, et je suis allé faire une recherche sans succès sur youtube pour retrouver une version "brute" car dans ma mémoire je ne me souvenais pas d'un chant si propre quand j'avais regardé le streaming du concert sur arte.
Ta vidéo n'a fait que confirmer mes soupçons!
Après je trouve quand même ca dommage d'en arriver à réenregistrer un live en studio. Quelques overdubs par ci par là ne posent pas problème, mais à ce point, on en vient à se poser la question de l'utilité de sortir un live...
18&Life est une chanson assez dure à chanter, Sebastian Bach n'est plus tout jeune, qu'il accepte le fait qu'il n'est plus capable de la chanter aujourd'hui comme il y a plus de 20 ans.

But... and this is a big BUT... the third concert of the DVD, Graspop in Belgium, was recorded on only TWO tracks. This meant that we were NOT allowed, AT ALL, to fix ANYTHING, in the studio, on the Graspop show. If you want to see a fully live performance, with no repairs made at all in the studio, whatsoever, you can watch the Graspop show. The Graspop show is 100% live. Zero overdubs. Zero repairs. That is why it is not part of the CD bonus.
My favourite song of the whole DVD to watch is probably 'Dirty Power' from the Graspop show. The HellFest & Nokia shows are indeed made to sound perfect on CD. But we did not have that luxury with the Graspop show. So the answer is yes, I most certainly made sure that each & every note on the CDs are perfect. When a comment is made online that my voice sounds 'too perfect', I do not take that as an insult. I don't want to burst anybody's bubble, but the original version of '18 and Life' was not recorded while I was running across from left to right on a stage the size of a football field. It is a delicate ballad, sung by me, when I was 20 years old. I will be 45 next month. The fact that I can still sing '18 and life' in the same key that it was recorded in when I was a teenager, and I can still hit the same screams at the age of 44 that I recorded when I was 20, is something that I feel very blessed to be able to do. When I am making a CD I definately want every note to sound perfect. This does not make me a bad person. This is merely the example set by KISS - Alive, Unleashed In The East', and every other great live album that I own.
If you want to watch a 100% live performance, please enjoy the Graspop show on ABachalypse Now. If you want to listen to a CD, please enjoy HellFest, and NoKia, which are made to sound as good as I could make them sound. And for those of you thinking that it was all rerecorded in the studio, the answer is, no, it was not. Pretty much every high scream of the HellFest show and the Nokia show is on the CD live, as it was recorded, in concert. The stuff I fixed up was mostly me running around during a verse or chorus or something. The fact that I was able to go in the studio and sing standing still made a big difference when I was listening back to the final product. So if you want to watch the full live show, with no studio repairs, then you can watch the Graspop show. I am not hiding anything. I have made a live CD in the tradition of the live CDs that I personally enjoy to this day.

mouais ... je comprends son raisonnement ... mais bon, faut qu'il y ait des limites .. car justement le Unleashed In The East qu'il mentionne est l'une des plus belles escroqueries de l'histoire des disques live, avec une grande partie des parties (sic) vocales de Rob Halford réenregistrées en studio ...

Le fait qu'il faille à quelques endroits gommer quelques pains (comme l'intro (pourtant facile) de Nothing Else Matters foirée par Kirk Hammett sur le DVD de Nîmes) ne me choque pas et je le comprends totalement car cela ne dénature pas l'esprit du concert ... mais quand c'est poussé jusqu'à réenregistrer totalement des instruments ou voix, j'appelle cela de l'escroquerie et cela enlève tout l'intérêt d'un live.

yep, il a bien raison. Quand c'est fait de façon intelligente et avec parcimonie, tout le monde est content.
Un live comme le Live After Death ou le Maiden England ont été retouchés avec cet esprit là , et pas en essayant de tromper les gens sur la marchandise (Unleashed In The East, la bande son du dvd d'AC/DC Live At River Plate...)

C'est devenu de plus en plus courant et facilité avec les technologies modernes.
Certains groupes en arrivent même à réenregistrer leurs parties avant de mettre des extraits live sur youtube par exemple.
Sinon il est un peu de mauvaise foi le Seb (Bach, pas Ead!) Il y a une grosse différence entre "fix" et réenregistrer complétement ses parties en studio.
C'est louable de vouloir proposer un produit de qualité. Après cd ou pas cd, les gens achètent quand même un live. Si lui et son groupe ne sont pas foutus de livrer des prestations de "qualité" (j'entends par là sans qu'il ressente le besoin d'en réenregistrer les 3/4 en studio), personne ne le force à sortir des lives, il peut se contenter d'albums studios. Je le répète, qu'il ne soit plus capable de chanter à la perfection des chansons comme 18 & Life à son âge, ce n'est pas moi qui lui en voudrai.

Justement, c'est pour cela qu'il indique qu'il n'a pas préféré sortir le concert du Graspop en cd, étant donné qu'il avait été enregistré en seulement ... 2 pistes !!! Dans ces conditions, c'est compréhensibles qu'il est beaucoup moins aisé de retouché des choses ...

A l'inverse, les 2 autres concerts ont été enregistrés en 48 pistes, ce qui laisse plus de latitude pour retravaillé le son des différentes pistes.

Sebastian Bach bosse sur un nouvel album, en compagnie de John 5 (actuel guitariste de Rob Zombie) et de Steve Stevens (Billy Idol, Vince Neil sur son premier album solo). Il est aussi en train d'écrire son autobiographie.
