Iron Maiden ont sorti le plus long single de toute leur carrière, Empire Of The Clouds, extrait de leur dernier album studio The Book Of Souls, en édition picture disc limitée 12″ pour le Record Store Day qui a eu lieu le 16 avril prochain.

La pochette du single est illustrée d’une réplique exacte de l’article de presse paru lors du crash du dirigeable R101, sujet central de ce titre.

Empire of the Clouds

Écrit par Bruce Dickinson, le single est sorti sous le label Parlophone Records (BMG aux États-Unis) avec en face B, une interview audio de l’auteur à propos de ce travail très personnel. Bruce affirme d’ailleurs : "une histoire très poignante, une histoire très humaine, une histoire d’ambition et de rêves".

Empire of the Clouds

C’est la toute première fois qu’Iron Maiden soutiennent le Record Store Day (Disquaire Day, en France) qui est une journée annuelle de promotion, organisée par les disquaires indépendants afin d’inciter le public à se rendre dans leurs boutiques. Elle se déroule le troisième samedi du mois d’avril depuis 2008.
