98-tour-ts

C’était la première fois qu’IRON MAIDEN jouait à Campinas. Il pleuvait beaucoup ce jour-là et aux environs de 20h, à l’ouverture des portes, plus de 10 000 fans se trouvaient déjà dans le stade.

Mais l’organisateur n’avait pas prévu de barrière pour séparer le public de la scène, ce qui pouvait occasionner des blessés parmi les spectateurs.
La barrière n’étant jamais arrivée et l’équipe de sécurité s’étant tout simplement volatilisée, vers 23h, un homme est monté sur scène et a annoncé l’annulation du concert (à cause de la pluie), provoquant une émeute dans le stade. Sièges cassés, jets de pierre, grilles d’entrée arrachées, verre brisé, … La police, arrivée peu avant l’annonce de l’annulation, a répondu avec des bombes de gaz lacrymogènes. Certaines personnes ont été blessées dans la mêlée mais aucun blessé grave n’a été à déplorer.

Commentaire : le groupe n’est pas revenu sur scène pour les rappels, d’une part à cause de la chaleur et d’autre part en raison de l’hostilité du public envers Blaze Bayley.
